This page describes how to configure an SMTP server for Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook.com.

  1. Set up the SMTP server options in PaperCut.
    1. Go back to Options > Notifications.

    2. In SMTP Server Options, select Gmail.

      To Configure Gmail with an App password
      1. Enable 2-Step Verification in Gmail.

        1. Sign in to Gmail.

        2. Click your profile icon (top right) > Manage your Google Account.

        3. Select the Security tab.

        4. Under Signing into Google, click 2-Step Verification and follow the setup steps.

      2. Generate an app password.

        1. Go to Create and manage your app passwords.
          You might need to verify your identity.

        2. Enter a name like PaperCut SMTP Notifications and click Create.

        3. Copy the generated app password.

          You won’t be able to view it again after closing the window.

       

    3. Enter your Gmail username and the app password.

       

    4. Click Apply.

You’re all set! PaperCut will now use Gmail to send notifications.
