COST CONTROL
Print Quotas: Assign, track, and manage print allowances
Control printing costs and resource use with the new Print Quotas feature. Administrators can now directly assign, track, and enforce printing allowances within PaperCut Hive, giving you precise tools to manage print consumption.
Set & adjust user balances
Assign initial financial printing allowances to individual users. Manually top-up or adjust balances as needed, or apply scheduled automatic balance resets (e.g., monthly) across your users.
Configure detailed print costs
Define specific costs for print jobs based on attributes like color/monochrome, page size, and duplex printing, enabling accurate tracking and charging against user balances.
Monitor usage & enforce limits
Track user balances and print activity in real-time via the admin console. Automatically restrict print release when a user’s balance is insufficient for the job cost.
PRINT DELIVERY
New print delivery options: Direct MFD retrieval
Introducing new print delivery methods in PaperCut Hive where printers directly retrieve jobs from either the Cloud Node or a designated local Hive Client. These options reduce infrastructure dependency and enhance security, initially available on Lexmark and Kyocera.
Enable direct cloud retrieval
Configure specific printers to securely pull print jobs directly from the PaperCut Hive Cloud Node, eliminating infrastructure like print servers or always-on clients for release.
Utilize local client retrieval
Alternatively, set printers to retrieve jobs directly from a designated local Hive Client on the network, keeping job traffic localized while still using the secure pull method.
Configure per-printer
Select the retrieval method (Cloud or Local Client) individually per printer via the admin console. This enhances network security by minimizing direct client-printer connections, supporting Zero Trust models.
Administration
Multi-Org login: Single sign-in for multiple organizations
Administrators managing multiple PaperCut Hive/Pocket organizations can now use a single email address for access. This simplifies login, utilizing a one-time password (OTP) verification step when multiple organizations are linked to your email, streamlining cross-site management.
Unified email access
Use your primary administrator email address to be invited to, and subsequently manage, multiple different PaperCut Hive/Pocket organizations without needing unique aliases.
Secure OTP verification
When logging in via the global login page, if your email is linked to multiple orgs, receive and enter a one-time password (OTP) sent to your inbox to securely authenticate your session.
Easy organization selection
After successful OTP verification, simply select which specific organization you need to manage from the list displayed, streamlining navigation between different sites or tenants.

Deploy the completely rebuilt PaperCut Hive embedded application for Ricoh MFDs. This new version features one-click installation, a faster common UI, and integrates core functionalities like secure release and Integrated Scanning.

Okta SSO configuration
We’re making it even easier to configure Okta as an authentication provider in PaperCut Hive.
Okta is available to select directly from the authentication setup wizard - alongside Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID - and utilize a setup page designed to mirror the configuration fields within the Okta admin interface.
Onboarding Chromebooks
We’ve extended our latest user onboarding experience enhancements to Chromebooks.
Following the introduction of our new onboarding flow and user portal in late 2024, we’re now extending this improved experience to Chromebook users, aligning them with other operating systems.
